Of all the products we supply here at Utility Rentals, our range of Apple’s iPads and MacBooks are hands-down our most popular.

It’s not difficult to see why: schools can use these versatile devices in a myriad of different ways, especially when they link them up to Apple Classroom for a true blended learning experience.

If you’re thinking about kitting out your classrooms with iPads or MacBooks, you may find it helpful to bookmark this run-down of the various models we can supply.

And don’t forget – there are no upfront costs to bear when you lease your new Apple products through one of our flexible monthly rental plans!

iPads

Did you know there are 28 different models of iPads, including the iPad Minis? We can supply any or all of them(!), but these are most up-to-date choices:

iPad Pro

The iPad Pro is one of the most powerful tablets in existence. Most laptops would struggle to keep up with the iPad Pro’s powerful processor and storage capabilities! The iPad Pro also boasts several advanced features like Face ID and ProMotion display technology. You can choose to include a keyboard and stylus, if you feel these features would benefit your students.

iPad Air

The iPad Air is mid-range tablet with a lightweight design and plenty of impressive features. These include a large, high-resolution Retina display, and a powerful processor that facilitates speedy multitasking. The iPad Air also has advanced features, like Touch ID for secure authentication, and you can use it with the Apple Pencil.

iPad 10th Generation

The 10th Generation iPad was released in October 2022. Building on the success of the 9th Generation iPad (see below!), this newer model has Smart HDR 3 for photos, and a superior rear camera. So, if you want an iPad that media or photography students will love, the 10th Generation model might just have the edge!

iPad 9th Generation

The 9th Generation iPad was released in early 2020. It features a large, high-resolution Retina display, a powerful A10 Fusion chip for fast performance, and you can use it with the Apple Pencil. It also has a thin and lightweight design, making it easy to transport between classrooms when needed!

MacBooks

The MacBook is Apple’s contribution to the laptop industry, and there are several very attractive models on the market right now.

MacBook Air – M1 Chip/ M2 Chip

The MacBook Air is the most portable of Apple’s MacBook range, with a sleek and lightweight design. It has a Retina display, a powerful Intel Core i5 processor, and fast solid-state storage, as well as long battery life and a backlit keyboard. The MacBook Air comes with macOS, the latest version of Apple’s operating system, which includes a range of built-in apps and features for productivity, creativity, and security.

MacBook Pro 13”/ 14”/ 16”

The MacBook Pro comes in a choice of sizes (13 inch, 14 inch or 16 inch) and is packed with lots of exciting features including high-performance graphics, fast storage, a large Force Touch trackpad and a Touch Bar for advanced controls. Its processors range up to an 8-core Intel Core i9, and it has a high-resolution Retina display. The MacBook is a top-of-the-line laptop that will suit any school wanting to invest in a powerful EdTech tool.

iMacs

The iMac is Apple’s 21st Century answer to the desktop computer. Unlike the iPad or MacBook, the iMac is designed to stay in one place, so is best suited to classrooms or computer labs that expect to keep their kit in situ.

iMac 24”

The iMac is a desktop computer with a stylish all-in-one design. This machine comes with a powerful 8th or 9th-generation Intel Core processor, plus high-performance graphics, fast storage, and advanced features like Thunderbolt 3 and FaceTime HD cameras. The iMac is programmed with macOS, the latest version of Apple’s operating system, giving students a range of built-in apps and features at their fingertips.

What’s the best way to use Apple products in my school?

Great question! Let’s assume you’ve just kitted out your classrooms with some fabulous iPads or MacBooks. How do you actually use them to deliver an improved learning experience?

The first thing to do is install Apple Classroom® on your new devices.

What is Apple Classroom?

Microsoft describes Apple Classroom® as a “versatile teaching assistant that puts teachers in charge of every iPad and Mac in the classroom, so they can keep students on track”.

The app enables teachers to have total control of their students’ technology and learning. It allows them to assign tasks like worksheets or activities, monitor students’ progress (as a group or individually), and work with their class in real-time.

What are the benefits of Apple Classroom?

Apple Classroom® is a versatile app with several useful features, including:

  • Create classes
  • Send and receive files (whole class or individual students)
  • View any student’s screen on your device
  • Mute student devices as required
  • Automatically log students out when their class ends and sync their docs to the Cloud
