Thomas Mills High School in Framlingham describes itself as a school where everyone can “achieve their potential in full”. The school recently approached Utility Rentals as it was looking for some mobile hand wash stations to help kids return to school safely.

In this case study, you’ll learn more about why the school chose our mobile hand wash stations. We’ll also tell you a little about the special Utility Rentals’ customer service that helped make the process so stress-free for the school.

What was Thomas Mills High School looking for?

In the wake of the COVID-19 lockdown, the school wanted to introduce some mobile handwashing stations “in strategic places” to “encourage the children to wash their hands frequently”. The team at the school was keen to find a new solution that would promote student safety as well as being budget-friendly.

After discussing their needs, we set Thomas Mills High School up on a flexible rental agreement which provided them with ten Lincat 10-litre mobile hand wash stations.

Our rental agreement enabled the school to gain quick access to this equipment (at a time when it really needed it) with absolutely no upfront costs!

What to consider when choosing mobile hand wash stations

1) Capacity

The Lincat hand wash stations we supplied the school with have a capacity of 10 litres per fill, which can provide an impressive 85 hand washes! This is a key consideration when choosing mobile hand wash stations for schools as you don’t want to be constantly filling them up due to high usage.

The stations also have an internal waste collection function which means there’s no need to drain them either, making them a sensible choice when it comes to maintenance.

2) Durability

When choosing mobile hand wash stations for schools you need to be sure they can withstand the rough and tumble of school life. Our sturdy, stainless steel units are built to last, they can also be easily wiped clean. Large wheels allow you to move the units quickly and easily from place to place which makes them ideal for school use.

3) Hygiene

Hygiene is the word on everyone’s lips at the moment. Our units are foot-activated and come with an infrared-operated tap. This means there’s zero need for hand contact which is a huge consideration in today’s school environment. The water temperature inside the units is also maintained at a temperature of 42 degrees.

You can therefore have absolute peace of mind that students can operate the hand wash stations safely.

4) Affordability

At Utility Rentals, we know the financial pressure schools are under when it comes to budgets. Thomas Mills High School was delighted to find a flexible agreement with no upfront costs, commenting that leasing the units “proved cheaper than buying them which is helpful”.

5) Comprehensive package

Whilst affordability is important, schools also tend to need a package that’s comprehensive. Our agreement includes free delivery and a flexible rental term, tailored to the needs of each school.

The Utility Rentals’ touch

At Utility Rentals we take customer service seriously! Judy Fullam, Finance Officer at the school said we “proved to be very efficient” and that “the process of leasing was smooth”. She also commented that she was “presented with a number of options that met with our requirements”.

We were very pleased to learn that Thomas Mills High School is so happy with its new mobile hand wash stations and the level of service they received from us.
