If you’ve been following our blog or Linkedin channels for the last few months, you’ll have seen us make mention of Classroom as a Service (ClaaS). This is our brand new sister company offering technical and IT equipment to schools on an innovative subscription model.
We’re actively recruiting suppliers who fit our strict criteria (more on that later!), so this blog will explore what types of equipment are eligible for our leasing deals. We’ll then discuss why schools prefer to buy their equipment with our help and what we’re looking for from our suppliers. The end goal is very much to help you close more deals with schools!
What sort of equipment do we fund via ClaaS?
The equipment best suited to the subscription funding model is IT and technical products. There’s the potential for you, the supplier, to sell increased volumes of units, and the lifespan of the products is usually conducive to the subscription model, because there are often newer models available for upgrade options by the end of the contract.
In this sense, it’s similar to how most of us take out our mobile phones on short-to-medium term contracts, and then upgrade to a newer version at the end.
These are the most popular types of IT equipment that our schools take on subscription:
- iPads and tablets
- Laptops
- PCs
- Macs
- Interactive screens
- Digital signage
- VR headsets
In fact, our schools trust us to supply any and all technical equipment.
Do you supply these products?
If you are a supplier of equipment to schools and want to spread the cost of a quote via an affordable subscription, please send us the quote you sent to your customer and we will put together a lease quote for you.
Do you supply other IT equipment?
If it’s a product that can feasibly be placed in a school, let’s chat! Email hello@classroomasaservice.co.uk or call 01628 667373 to talk about putting your products into schools.
Why is the subscription model so popular with schools?
Schools love our subscription model, so let’s look at the reasons why:
- They can pay an ongoing, manageable amount, rather than a huge upfront sum
- They can afford to buy more units than if they had to pay outright
- They can upgrade to the latest models at the end of their contract (much like a consumer might upgrade their mobile phone).
There are logistical reasons why schools choose to work with us, too:
- We’re a direct funder and we offer a straightforward process
- All UK schools are pre-approved for our funding, so there’s no fear of a failed application
- As part of Utility Rentals, ClaaS specialises in education finance and benefits from our nearly 40 years’ experience.
Our supplier checklist
While we’re happy to finance any IT equipment that a school might need, we’re very selective about who we take on as partners.
We have a reputation within the education sector that we have earned over three decades, and a big part of this is our supplier screening process.
To work with ClaaS to put your products into schools, you will need to:
- Be an established supplier
- Show that you have a track record and a good reputation
- Be able to commit to a leasing arrangement of up to 5 years, depending on the product.
If that sounds like you, we’d love to chat!
Become a ClaaS partner
Depending where you are in the sales cycle, there are various ways you can link up with us to provide the funding your customers need.
You can:
- Register as a supplier – gain access to the ClaaS lease solution to help more schools spread the cost of your proposals and acquire more units.
- Get a lease quote for a school – use our innovative quoting tool to turn your quote into an affordable subscription for your customer.
- Contact us to discuss in more detail – email hello@classroomasaservice.co.uk or call 01628 667373.
