Start benefitting from induction technology by upgrading through Utility Rentals
Hobs with induction technology are more efficient, faster and safer than gas or ceramic hobs. So why not upgrade your appliances, with the help of our flexible and affordable rental contracts…
Induction hob technology may have been around for a few years now, but it hasn’t always been easily accessible. As with most new technology, induction technology came at a high price at first, which meant it was instantly out of the question for schools who were suffering from shrinking budgets. But as the number of appliances featuring induction technology rises and the cost of these appliances decreases, induction technology is finally within reach of the UK’s education sector and it offers a whole host of benefits compared to gas or electric hobs.
But first, let’s start with the question we are sure you all want to ask…how does induction technology actually work? Induction technology uses electromagnetic energy to heat the base of the pan and its contents, rather than the hobs surface. When a pan is placed on an induction hob, a magnetic circuit is completed. Therefore, even when the hob is switched on, without a completed circuit, no energy is produced and the hobs surface doesn’t get hot.
Quite obviously, this is the first great benefit schools could receive by upgrading to induction technology. There are no flames or hot ceramic elements; instead the hobs surface stays cool, making induction a much safer option for students, as there is no danger of them getting burnt. Induction technology is also much faster than any other fuel type. With the ability to boil water in just a matter of seconds, it won’t waste students’ time during lessons, plus there’s less energy required as it’s in use for a shorter amount of time. Consequently, induction technology is also far more efficient than both gas and electric hobs, ultimately helping to reduce a schools carbon footprint, whilst also helping schools to save money on their energy bills at the same time. In addition to this, the ceramic surface of induction hobs are extremely easy to clean – dirt can simply be wiped away immediately, as there is no need to wait for it to cool down. This is a huge advantage, especially for schools, where let’s face it, spills are inevitable!
Over recent years appliances featuring induction hobs have become much more readily available and there is now a vast range of both built-in and freestanding models from the UK’s biggest manufacturers. At Utility Rentals, we quickly recognised the advantages of using induction technology within schools and therefore have worked hard to put together a full range of induction appliances that are perfect for use within education. And with our flexible and affordable rental contracts, schools can acquire the exact appliances they need immediately, without using their capital budget. Annual rental payments can be spread across a 3 or 5 year period and as they remained fixed for the duration of the rental, schools are not only protected from inflation, but can also plan their budgets effectively too. With the rental of each appliance, we’ll include delivery to your school classroom, as well as installation of the appliance to existing connections. If you have any existing appliances in place, we’ll disconnect, remove and dispose of them in line with the WEEE directive if you would like us to at no extra cost. Most importantly, we’ll also include a full parts and labour breakdown warranty for the duration of the rental for each appliance. This not only protects schools from any unexpected repair costs, but also eliminates the stress for school staff who would otherwise be responsible for sourcing suitable repair agents, as well as any spare parts.
