Constructed mostly of metal and with hardened Perspex, specially designed to filter-out laser radiation, ULS laser cutters will easily withstand the high usage they are likely to receive in a school environment. ULS offer a wide range of laser systems that can be fitted with laser cartridges from 10W to an incredible 150W and all of their lasers produce radiation through coherent light, which is safer towards eyesight.

There are many brands of laser cutters which are imported from the Far East and as a result are highly unreliable. And whilst they may seem like a good deal, they require a chiller to cool the laser cartridge, which is usually only available at an additional cost. ULS laser systems feature an air cooled laser cartridge and thanks to their great quality, a ULS laser cartridge could last up to a very impressive 10 years! In addition to this, ULS laser systems feature a safety interlock system which automatically locks the chamber when the laser is in use – a great safety feature for schools – and as they are fitted underneath the metal panels of the housing, they cannot be tampered with. ULS laser systems are each provided with a honeycomb cutting table, which not only stops scorching on the reverse of the material when the laser is in use, but it allows debris to fall through, as well as the easy extraction of fumes into the extraction system.

As with all equipment, even the highest quality laser systems like those from ULS can suffer breakdowns from time to time. We understand how frustrating it can be when a vital piece of equipment fails and so, each laser cutter we provide through our affordable rental contracts are provided with a one year parts and labour breakdown warranty as standard. For added peace of mind, you can choose to extend the warranty for the duration of the five year rental agreement. And what’s more, you can even include annual servicing visits to make sure your laser cutter is always running efficiently. Many suppliers are unable to offer any kind of onsite warranty with their laser cutter, but it is worth noting that even those that can are likely to only offer a return to base warranty, as they have very limited support in the UK. This could potentially leave the school without a laser cutter for weeks at a time, as well as leaving the school with the responsibility of paying for any costs involved in shipping the laser cutter to and from the supplier.
